Why we rebuilt procurement from the ground up

Fragmented tooling was slowing procurement teams down. Here's how we approached rebuilding it - and what changed.

Procurement is where strategy meets execution. Fragmented tools can make hand-offs harder to follow, with requisitions, quotations, approvals, and purchase orders recorded in different places.

We rebuilt eTatua from first principles to fix that.

The problem with "stitched" procurement

When a process is spread across multiple tools, each hand-off can make it harder to follow the current request or supplier communication.

The eTatua approach

We built a single, connected workflow:

  • Requisitions can be created and submitted for approval, with their item details and current status available to review.
  • Quotations keep selected items and suppliers together, with email requests sent from the system.
  • Purchase orders can be created, approved, sent to suppliers, and cancelled.

Requisition and purchase-order records include status information, helping teams follow those records through their configured workflow.

What changes for teams

The practical change is a clearer place to manage requisitions, supplier quotations, and purchase orders. Teams can review those records as work moves through the configured workflow.

If you're still running procurement out of email and spreadsheets, we'd love to discuss the workflow with you. Request a demo.
