When someone asks about a purchase request or order, finding the supporting information can take effort. eTatua's AI assistant offers another starting point: ask about your purchasing records in everyday language.
A practical role for AI
Supported examples include:
- "Show my requisitions." Review a summary of returned items and statuses.
- "Show my purchase orders." Retrieve order references, suppliers, and statuses.
- "Show my quotations." See quotation references with item and supplier counts.
The organisational value to evaluate is the effort needed to find context, not the presence of a chatbot. Try a representative lookup, review the returned details, and compare it with how your team finds that information today.
What RAG means in eTatua
Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) connects an AI experience to retrieved information rather than relying only on a model's general knowledge.
eTatua uses AI to identify a supported intent, then calls application services to retrieve records and assembles a structured summary in chat. This tool-based retrieval path does not use a second generative-model call to rewrite those records. It is not an advertised document-upload or vector-search service.
Summaries can show a subset of returned records. AI can misinterpret a question, and the data may be incomplete. Verify the underlying records before acting.
Purchasing judgement stays with people
Finding order information does not establish which supplier offers the best value. Historical spend does not establish like-for-like unit cost. Use comparable specifications, delivery costs, quality, and terms in your evaluation.
Chat-based requisition creation remains unimplemented as a completed purchasing action. Use the normal purchasing workflows for requests and approvals; do not assume autonomous buying or automatic supplier selection.
What to discuss in a demo
Check supported questions, the available records, configuration, usage limits, and model-provider data handling. Start with approved test data, not confidential business records.
